We look forward to working with you!
NSCC Parent Auxiliary Mission Statement
The mission of this Parent Auxiliary is to work together supporting the division both staff and Cadets. This group will be our cadets cheering squad. We welcome the new parent(s) and communicate with each other and staff as questions/issues arise. By participating in these endeavors, we will help our cadets achieve a higher level of excellence.
We Need Your Help!
We will maintain a Parents Auxiliary to help in various ways. A Parent Auxiliary exists to assist parents with their questions, concerns, or just having another parent to talk to about their Cadet's progress in the Sea Cadet Program. This support group is open to all parents.
As a parent of a cadet, you should know that we cannot be fully successful without your parental support. In many cases, the Naval Sea Cadet Corps can have a substantial impact on your child’s future. It is important to us that that impact is positive.
Parents need to understand our program and reinforce our stated goals and values but moreover, they need to communicate to our command.
A Parents Auxiliary will be made up of the READY & WILLING family members of our Sea Cadets and is one of our primary vehicles to keep our program relevant. It is a Non-Political group formed to assist in providing our Cadets with the highest quality program and lending a needed helping hand to the commanding officer and his staff in tapping local resources that many parents have but may not fully realize.
If you have a son or daughter who is a cadet, then WELCOME, you are already a Team BARQUE EAGLE DIVISION member, the level of your involvement is up to you. We encourage you to help us help your cadet.
The Parents Auxiliary can meet at the NOSC Plainville facility or any location they wish and will keep our command aware of potential problems and help us formulate solutions. This might be a great meeting to hold during drill weekend at a parent’s house to discuss cadets and of course get to know one another. Other areas in which the Parents Auxiliary can assist include cadet transportation, input for creative training and educational projects, administrative support & fund raising to name a few. The commanding officer provides some general guidance, but the direction and depth of the group’s function will be up to the group members and its Chairperson. The Chairperson will be a parent and will be a special assistant to the commanding officer.
We need ALL HANDS-ON DECK to accomplish this dynamic program. Meetings will be determined by the Committee members. There are many ways you can help: you do not have to be a full-time auxiliary member; you do not have to be a full-time uniformed instructor or other full-time volunteer. Once this group is formed, anyone can contact a group member and offer some ideas or assistance on a one-time basis or periodically, as you feel you can. We hope that all our parents will support this effort to whatever degree you can.
If you are a new parent, please consider joining. We need your support.
If you would like more information on the Parent Auxiliary, have suggestions or have any questions, please send the Coordinator jkkowalski75@gmail.com an email with your questions or input.
By working as a Team of dedicated Staff, Cadets and Parents we can achieve the goals of this important "character building program".
Thank you for your support
